lets see he is completely all black apart from some of his nose which is pick and his tongue is too. He is constantly wanting to get out of his cage and explore around the house and when I tell him I have to go to school and put him back in his cage he will stomp his foot on the floor to show he is not very happy about going back.

I just successfully introduced him to the Guinea Pigs yesterday they were all outside of their cages doing a play session and everyone got a long very well everyone is very curious of one another and their was even some grooming of each other while they were out which was too cute for words.

I have new photos and videos of them all......I just wish I had a device that actually worked when I tried to hook my digital camera to the computer....once I have the issue resolved I will post up as many pics as I can.

Oh and he also got a new hay rack over the weekend I made him his hayrack over the weekend out of a piece of wire panel.....and it works really well...he really seems to live snacking on his hay at home...now too.

My father has told me to get rid of my three little girls. I'm very upset as I live in an area where mice are highly UNpopular. I have no one to take them and I'm scared on giving them to some random person. For all I know, they could be bought as snake food. I love them to death and it HIGHLY upsets me. The only option I'm really left is the SPCA, but I don't want them put down. *Cries* Too bad I haven't the place to move out into yet..........

Kim's our local degu expert, but with school starting up again, she's probably swamped....

Meanwhile (until she gets around to this...), here's a couple of interesting links:

http://www.repsnpets.co.uk/degucare.html
(umm... when they say "pairs" I'm hoping they mean same-sex pairs...)

And BTW; you are more than welcome to take up as much space as you like in ANY portion of this forum, as far as I'm concerned. My meeces are a big part of my life, and it gets to me when there's no one posting in any of the Forums. I'm interested in hearing about all the furries, but especially ratties. There's no question that I will someday own a couple of ratties of my own.

I weaken seriously whenever I see a rattie begging for attention in a store. the last one was a marked champagne boy who was up for adoption. He came over to the end of the ten gallon tank he was in and stuck his nose right up against the screen and kept it there while I put my finger on the screen. then he rared back a bit and and pushed forcefully several times on the top hard enough to make it jump a bit. He REALLY wanted to get out of that tank, which, IMHO, was way too small for a rattie. Such pretty bright red eyes had he....

They seem to get along well enough; gonna have to break 'em up, though if she doesn't start showing soon...she's the only one of my champagne tan does that isn't aBFM herself.

A couple of other does are starting to show; if all my does deliver in the next month, I'll be up to my eyeballs in skweekiness. I'm breeding a litter of standard short haired meeces by a couple I'm calling Taters (marked agouti doe) and Gravy (the huge red-eyed fawn buck), then there are three litters of various tris, and two satin litters. I also plan on pairing a couple from the litter that was suppposed to give me blue tris with a brighter orange for the tan belly. Very soon, the youngsters from the tri/brindled litters will be ready to be bred.
These girls are from two litters where I crossed red/yellow mousies with tricolor mousies. It'll be interesting to see what shows up in the next generation. The marked fawn satin featured is the first to be picked for the new pairings, along with another girl from another litter. I got some interesting marked agouti chinchilla tris in these litters. The mother is a marekd golden agouti.
